(Beijing, April 18) In spite of its great strength in the sport, the Brazilian women's football team dared not neglect their match for the Olympic ticket tomorrow evening. After today's training, both Brazil's head coach and players said that they would surely try their best as the match is of great importance to them.
On the evening of April 19, Brazil and Ghana will fight against each other at the Beijing Workers' Stadium for the last ticket to the Olympic Games. Th Brazilian squad had their last training session this evening in a relaxing atmosphere with the field filled with the players' laughter. It is predicted that Brazil will get the Olympic ticket without suspension, as the world runners-up team led by Marta, FIFA Women's Player of the Year, is far superior to Ghana whether in personal skills or teamwork. Nevertheless, as head coach Barcellos put it, "We have attached great importance to this match, which is very important for both the Brazilian women's football team and the whole Brazil. We will not lower our guard until we clinch our final victory."
Brazil earned the silver in the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup with its key players popular with Chinese football fans. Daniela, a key midfielder, said, "This match is vital to us. We will let down our fans unless we go all out for it and win it."
At the end of the training session, Barcellos arranged a penalty-kick practice for the team. According to him, if the team fails to beat their opponents within 90 minutes, the players need to get themselves well prepared for a cruel penalty shoot-out.
