As 26 "Good Luck Beijing" sport events draw near, the atmosphere of competition on Beijing's streets becomes thicker and thicker. Recently, the Organizing Committee of "Good Luck Beijing" sports event has set up signs of venues and hotels on Beijing's main roads for the competition-watching and lodging convenience of spectators.

As a trial and rehearsal of the Olympic Games, "Good Luck Beijing" sport events will comprehensive test the preparation work for Olympic venues, team operation and urban operation and security. From August to December this year, 26 events will be held in Beijing and assisting cities such as Qingdao, Hong Kong, Qinhuangdao and Shenyang.

Qinhuangdao and Shenyang had successfully held Good Luck Beijing 2007 International Women's Football Tournaments from July 1 to 10. On August 7, this year, the newly-built Olympic venues in Beijing will face the test of the first "Good Luck Beijing" sports event-2007 World Rowing Junior Championships will be held at Shunyi Olympic Aquatic Park just put into operation.

"Good Luck Beijing" sports events will test the preparation work for the Olympic Games through individual event test and comprehensive rehearsal. The former is primarily aimed at the conditions of venue facilities, while the latter is aimed at comprehensive command, dispatch and monitoring of synchronous holding of different venues and urban operation under the unified leadership of the command center by simulating the running status of the Olympic Games. There are six events characterized by comprehensive rehearsal among all 2007 "Good Luck Beijing" sports events: sailing, beach volleyball, canoe-kayak slalom, road cycling, baseball and archery. The principal tasks of the comprehensive rehearsal include operation command system, customer service, urban operation and security and capacity for emergence response.
